Normalization is not happening "before". In order to apply normalization, value is calculated from the source file, and then it's applied to the output file while it's created. Maybe it's MP3Gain you're referring to?

You need to click the files list under Metadata and then choose item from right-click menu as it works for all items at once. If you get error, please download this updated version - http://xrecode.com/xrecode3/download/se ... t_1.46.exe.
