Hi,
I am considering reencoding my flac files with the highest compression rate.
I just want to be sure I am not missing something before I try, since it is going to take a few hours.
So with proper settings, and an additional cover file in each folder, Xrecode III should be able to re-encode the source files with the same tags and include the cover picture in the flac files.
Are there any limitations to the tags xrecode can import-export ?
Do you expect some quality loss ? (If I understand well xrecode first converts the flac file to wave before re-encoding it with libflac.dll)
Thanks for your comments.

How to reencode flac files with different settings
Re: How to reencode flac files with different settings
Yes, all tags will be retained and re-encoding will happen on the fly, i.e. no WAV will be created in between.
Re: How to reencode flac files with different settings
Ok I get it for the tags but I am still curious about the recoding.
On the fly recoding is equivalent to : -6 flac file -> original wav file -> -8 flac file (thus no loss) ?
I am curious about how this works with libflac. It seems magical
[EDIT]
Made a test (call me paranoid)
recoded a -6 flac file with xrecode to -8 flac
extract -6 flac -> wav = wav <- extract -8 flac
removed tags since it seems some path info is included
No loss since you get the same wav file.
