[SOLVED] Is there a way to ignore files based on directory/filename?

Long story, but I have some files that I want to automatically ignore from the transcoding process, and unfortunately they are scattered among files that I do want to transcode.

Is there a way to exclude certain files when doing "Folder/Add" based on filename matching? I see that you can only include files of a certain type under the options...but is it possible to only include/exclude if they meet a broader filename match?

Said another way, "if you see [foo] in a filename, never include it"?

Thanks!

Thank you for putting this option in!

I tried it out a few times...a couple of findings.

1. Say you have files "foo.flac", "foo2.flac", and "fee.flac". If you have the "Copy all other files to the destination folder" checked in the "Misc" tab, and exclude "*foo*", and turn these into OGG files, your result directory will contain foo.flac, foo2.flac, and fee.ogg. Which might not be what people are expecting (you can certainly get around this in other ways, but I found this a bit surprising) - I would have expected the only file to appear to be fee.ogg.
2. The results were very odd when I tried to exclude " * [ U ] * " (remove all the spaces otherwise this forum treats that as a command to start underlining) ...almost random things were getting excluded. Are square brackets used internally for anything in xrecode?
3. Finally, I need to remember to set the exclusion BEFORE you add the files in. I'm sure this is obvious for others, but it wasn't for me. :)

Thank you again!

So you'd like to be prompted for this option each time you are adding files or have it under 'Add Folder" options?

No, being prompted each time isn't necessary - I now know that the items on this screen are applied when you add folders. I thought they were applied after you add folders.

OK, please install the updated beta version - https://xrecode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=40
- Exceptions will be applied to "Copy ..." files as well
- Mask containing [ ] was fixed as well.

I tested this out on a few directories and it works perfectly - thank you!!! I very much appreciate your willingness to consider additional functionality!
