Best settings for conversion of FLAC to ALAC?

When I convert FLAC files I can choose between internal processing and external procesing (Refalac.exe).
I would like to convert both regular FLAC files as high res FLAC files (24/96) to ALAC.
It apears as if only refalac.exe can convert high res FLAC to high res ALAC, however when I convert normal FLAC with refalac.exe, the bitrate seems to be less than with internal processesing (e.g. around 800VBR instead of 1400).
Which settings will result in the highest quality ALAC audio files?
Cheers, Bartel

Are you referring to xrecode 2? If so, internal encoder is limited, so better use refalac for the encoding.

Yes, I still use Xrecode II.
Does Xrecode 3 has better concersion options/quality than Xrecode II?
I tried to find out in your forum what is the main difference between Xrecode 2 and 3. Is it in the UI or also in functionallity?

Just download and try it out for yourself :) Version 2 is not supported anymore.
