Split m4b by chaptermark?

Post by The.Great.ESCape »

Is there a way to split an m4b by it's chaptermarks without transcoding, or a method of merging 2 or more multi-chapter m4bs?

Use extract method to split m4b without transcoding and merge to merge them also without transcoding).

Extract works great as described, which I should have thought of myself if my brain were operating well at the time. However, my attempts to merge multi-chapter m4bs end up crashing every time. Extracting to individual chapters, and then merging works, but lowers the bitrate to 7 or 8 even though I manually set it to 126 CBR to match that of the source files. I am unsure why this is happening. Although, I have noticed in the past when merging AAC files that I have to manually set both the Sample Rate and Bitrate to match the source files for it to work. MP3s don't seem to require the same treatment.

Could you, please, send at least 2 of those m4b files to xrecode@gmail.com (you could use https://wetransfer.com/)?

You mean the multi-chapter m4bs, and not the extracted m4As?
