I have around 600 DTS 5.1 .wav files from SACD's that I want to convert to .flac files.
When I play the .wav files they play fine on VLC and AIMP.
When I do the conversion from .wav to .flac in xrecode the files are static when played in VLC or AIMP.
I am using libFLAC.dll for encoding all output settings are automatic. Input and Output Matrics are set to 5.1 but I first tried default plus several other settings.
If I convert the .wav files to .flac using VLC they play fine but I can only process 1 file at a time.
Thanks for any help, Dooger.
[SOLVED] Static when playing 5.1 .wav files converted to .flac
Re: Static when playing 5.1 .wav files converted to .flac
Could you, please, send one such DTS file to xrecode@gmail.com (you could use https://wetransfer.com if it's too big)?
Re: Static when playing 5.1 .wav files converted to .flac
File sent.
Sorry the first one I sent was a .flac file that was recoded from a .wav file that gives the static.
That .wav file was to large to email so I sent a second different .wav file.

Reply back from Support at Xrcode:
You need to enable those 2 options.
Skip bad frames - for some files you might get error at the very end of the file. This is how the current DTS decoder works, but that's fine, as you can then check the file that it sounds OK. You can then enable "Don't show warning..." option as well.
Scan WAV file for DTS stream - this will force the DTS detection in WAV files.
This worded for me.
The Settings are in Tab/Settings (Bottom Left) then Settings and Misc Tab.
Check Skip bad frames and Scan WAV for DTS stream.
Thanks for your support.

Re: [SOLVED] Static when playing 5.1 .wav files converted to .flac
I'd like to add one more thing. After processing all my files I noticed that all the tag information including album art was transferred from the DTS wave file. A couple of other apps I tried managed the tag information but didn't transfer any album art. This will save me a lot of time not having to redo that.
Thanks again, Dooger.
