Normalization values are saved into tags but not read by mediaplayers

Post by rotong »

When I normalize some files with the utilites menu, normalization values are written into the tags (HOWEVER NOT ALLWAYS) but the tags are not read by the mediaplayers i.e.MusicBee or MediaMonkey. When I open a simple tag editor, the normalization values are shown in the entry "replaygain_track_gain" but don't show up in the mediaplayer. However when I change the value by hand in a tag editor and save it, everything is ok. Very strange isn't it?
When I encode files including normalization all is OK and all of the normalization values show up correctly in the tags and are read by the players. :?

Please send one such file, where it's not recognized, to xrecode@gmail.com.

I just installed the new 1.48 beta. Now normalization values are not written into tags anymore so I cannot reproduce the file you've been asking for!

It only works if you encode/convert a file including normalization. Track Gain values are normally written into tags.
If you only normalize files, the normalization values are shown in the overview but not written into tags.
