Why can't FLAC multi-channel files be converted properly?

Post by straysheep731 »

I tried to convert a FLAC multi-channel file to an AAC or AC3 multi-channel file, but the finished file was a noise-only file.

Why isn't it converted normally?

See the source FLAC file.

That .flac file is corrupted, and nonly 24 minutes of the audio is decoded.
But anyway, I was able to convert the good part (24 minutes) into a valid 6-channel .m4a file using standard M4A Settings (qaac64.exe).

As you say, the file could be split.
But why can't I convert a 6ch file to a 5.1ch multi-channel file (AAC or AC3)?

I just tried and it worked just fine with the latest version of the program.
Do you have a non corrupted audio file which doesn't work?
