The only discrepancy is that the output file now has a .mkv extension.
It might be better to use the standard .ec3 extension. Or just .ac3.
Although EAC3 can use a bitrate higher than 640, I'm not sure whether there is a need for that.
I'm glad I have a license for XRECODE3.

Yes, it requires a proper container, as .ac3 cannot contain eac3 stream. At least that's the error message I got when developing

I checked and it's possible to use the .eac3 extension, so I changed to that instead of an .mkv.

I'll use SurCode or eac3 for my new favorite music videos. I keep them all in one folder and watch them in random order, like a music channel. So I need to normalize their audio, and reencode audio.
