Hello,

I have ISO SACD disc with a depth of 32bit. I want to rip the audio to FLAC or WAVE files. Is there a need to rip the sound to a depth of 32bit, as originally recorded? If I rip the disc to a resolution of e.g. 96kHz/24bit to FLAC, will I get worse sound quality? Is that ripped file can be edited without loss of sound quality? (E.g. cut pieces of audio editing program).

I would be grateful for an explanation.

Hmm. SACD is a 1-bit format. There are no 32 bit in original file. Explane, please, what do you mean.

96kHz/24bit to FLAC will be absolutely fine. I think 88.2kHz/24 bit is considered the PCM equivalent of the DSD.

The attached screenshot on the right shows the parameter 32/f. I thought this was bit depth. Can you please explain what this means?

That's the internal format of the data, i.e. in PCM.
