This has been happening for some time but I wasn't sure of things. Right now I made XR normalize some files and after they have been normalized -which should be just writing the two replaygain tags- some tags have been changed, it is an MP3 file with id3v2.3 tags. This was before:

Same thing happened before with some m4a iTunes files that XR stripped almost all the tags, at the time I thought something else happened with some other tool, thought I suspected of XR, so I just continued with life waiting for it to happen and track it down to the culprit.
This is all that's left of the m4a files (it's missing a lot of tags, even tags from iTunes itself):
